i think theyre trying to blow this up to 'rushdie' proportions. the paper is probably loving this media attention. there's been a void of tolerance in denmark for a while now. there needs to be a serious pro-muslim campaign there to educate the people or life will only get harder for our bros and sisters living there.

Do not mistake the soundbites of news editors and politicians for the will of the Danish people.

I saw the story about the newspaper cartoons mocking the prophet Mohammed, and I agree that it was a stupid thing to do, and that the people responsible should apologise and write a retraction. Hiding behind freedom of expression is no excuse for such stupidity.

Are Danish people going to go out and burn copies of the Quran en masse? I doubt it. Most of the Danes probably don't even care about this debacle, or have more sense, and in any case book-burning is something that will bring back memories of what happened in Germany and elsewhere 70-odd years ago, when Hitler rose to power and began his plans for domination in Europe, not something that most people will want to be associated with, even tangentially.

and knowing the vengefull character of islam (or so I have been told), riots could happen.
